Central students are confident lifelong learners who impact their diverse local and global communities. They equitably advocate for themselves and others in a complex, ever-changing world.

Central School Counselors collaborate with students, families, community members and school personnel to assure that all students realize and integrate their academic, career and social-emotional potential in order to develop and achieve an individualized vision of success:

Academic Support – school counselors help students with topics such as academic organization, course planning, study skills and post-secondary preparation.
College & Career Planning – school counselors help students identify possible career paths through interest inventories, personality type assessments and learning style tests. Counselors help students understand the connections between their academic learning, post-secondary education & training, and their career goals.
Personal/Emotional Support – school counselors help students with issues such as bully prevention, anger management, problem solving and cooperation. Counselors work with families to find students additional support if needed.

New to Central 2024-2025?

All students must first enroll through the Student Placement Center. Visit their website at: www.apply.spps.org

Here is what you can expect after being assigned to Central High School:

Receive a letter from the Student Placement Center indicating you have been assigned to Central.
It can take a couple of school days after being assigned to Central to receive all student records.
Families will receive a phone call from the Central Counseling Department to schedule a time to register AFTER records are received.

NOTE: Central High School is unable to take drop-in registrations. Families showing up at Central High School without an appointment will be asked to schedule a time to come back.

How do I make an appointment?

How do I request a transcript?

All students and families have access to UNOFFICIAL Transcripts through Campus Portal.

Current SENIORS needing an OFFICIAL transcript will need to submit a request through XELLO. Access to XELLO can be found through their CLEVER app.

Former students will need to contact SPPS Student Records to receive transcripts and other school records.

NOTE: Central Staff do not have access to records from prior graduating classes.

How do I Request Courses for next year?

Current 9-11th grade students make course requests for the 2024-2025 school March 4-15, 2024.

Counselors will be going to articulated middle schools April 1-5 to showcase Central High School, what it has to offer and how to request courses.

2024-2025 Course Information and Request night is on Thursday, April 18 from 5:00-7:00 pm in-person at Central High School for all families and students new to our building. Mark your calendars and see you soon!
