Hello Central community.
Here are a couple of items that might make your summer better
Free Y membership for teens. If you’re starting grade 9-12 in the fall, you can take advantage of free membership at Twin Cities YMCAs this summer with the Get Summer program.
Summer student Metro transit pass - Central students can get a summer's worth of rides on buses and light rail for just $30 with the Summer Student Pass!
From June 1 through Sept. 4, students can get unlimited rides on buses and trains up to a $3.25 fare (for fares higher than that amount, like some Northstar trips, just add stored value to your pass). Don't wait – Summer Student Passes go on sale May 13!
End-of-School-Year Updates and Frequently Asked Questions
Summer is here, and we understand that families may have questions or need help when our school buildings are closed. Our school clerk schedules vary after Monday, June 10. If you need to reach someone at the school, please call 651-744-4900 or email centralhs@spps.org. Clerks will be back in the building mid to late August.

Below, you will find answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
Summer Learning Programs
Programs start June 24. Transportation information will be emailed to families and available online through the Parent Portal. Some programs may still have openings, please contact the Department of Alternative Education more information.
Summer Meals
Summer meals are available at NO COST to kids 18 and under, or those over 18 with a disability enrolled in a school program. Meals will be served at parks and community spaces, starting June 17. For information and locations, visit spps.org/summermeals.
End of School Year iPad Information
You have the option to leave your iPad and charger at school over the summer, IF you aren't attending summer school. Please be aware that these devices will be erased, returned to to the district and students will receive a different device from their school in the fall. If you choose to turn in your iPad, make sure you have backed up the documents and files you want to keep before you bring your iPad and charger to turn back in. See the instructions to back up your work.

Fall Open House
Please join us at our open house to welcome students and families to a new year sometime in September.
Fall Sports
Fall athletic registration for the 2024-25 school year begins this Sunday, May 19, via R School Today. Students in secondary schools need a physical exam every three years to participate in sports. Download a copy of the physical exam form at spps.org/sports and take it to your healthcare provider.
Class Schedules and Teacher Assignments
Class schedules will be available to view in Infinite Campus on August 23, unless otherwise noted.
Transportation Schedule
Students will receive a postcard in the mail with transportation information at the end of August. The postcard lists details about where and when to get on and off the bus.
Enrollment
Students should be registered as soon as possible so we can plan for classes in September. To enroll a student, please visit our Student Placement Center’s website at spps.org/apply or call 651-632-3760. Families may not be contacted until secretaries are back in the buildings in mid-August.
