Why Support Central High School?
Thank you for investing in your child’s school! Public education is wonderful, but we also know that there aren’t enough resources to support all the opportunities we want to provide for our kids. You have many options for where you can make investments and we want to make it easy for you to invest in your child's education. Below, you will see a list of all the parent support organizations that work TOGETHER to make Central HS excellent. Please give as generously as you can!
Parent Advisory Council
Goal: $50,000
Description: PAC works to support and enhance the education of students and the experience of staff and the school community. Our work is centered around creating a positive community and uses a racial equity lens to support and enhance the education of all students, with a focus on eliminating barriers and providing equitable opportunities for students of color and in so doing - building a strong community of all stakeholders at Central High School. Your gift to the PAC supports the whole school. We are ALL Central and your gift transforms the hearts and minds of the 1,700 students that attend Central High School, as well as the 165 staff who work in the building. Funds raised by the Central PAC offset the costs that public education is not able to fund. Thank you for considering making a gift that works for your family. And thank you, for all you do for the Central community. Every single gift, no matter the amount, is important and appreciated
Sports Boosters
Goal: $50,730
Description: Central Athletics supports 36 Minnesota State High School League sports, with 1,400 student-athletes participating last year. This fall, we added an extra girls volleyball team and a boys soccer team—giving 17 more girls and 30 more boys the chance to compete. The school district will pay for a limited number of coaches, but in order to serve the high numbers of students who want to participate in sports the Central Sports Booster Club needs to fundraise to cover the cost of 22 additional coaches for our student athletes.
If each athlete raised just $36.25, it would fully fund our additional coaches’ salaries for the year. Some can give that amount, many more can give what they’re able, and every gift counts.
This year, our fundraising focus is on one critical need: hiring enough coaches. With more and more students eager to participate in sports, our district budget simply cannot cover the number of coaches required to support them all. Your gift will directly ensure that every student who wants to play has the opportunity to do so. $50,730 is the total we need to pay for 22 extra coaches.
Want to support a specific sport, or the Dion Ford Scholarship? It’s easy—donate by cash or check with the name of your sport in the memo line: St. Paul Central Sports Boosters, PO Box 4122, St. Paul, MN 55104.
Music Boosters
Goal: $25,000
Description: Your donation dollars help to make music accessible to all students and to support student growth and retention in the music programming at Central High School. This year we need to purchase and repair instruments. Your support also provides funds for sheet music, creates opportunities for students through scholarships, lessons and instruction, guest teaching artists and commissions for new music. Thank you for supporting 500 students and 2 amazing teachers.
Theater Boosters
Goal: $10,000
Description: The St. Paul Central High School theatre program is a vibrant community of student actors, technicians, musicians, and dedicated teachers. Most high schools in MN require kids to pay fees in order to participate in a theatre production. We believe that all kids should have access to the arts.
Each school year, Central Theatre puts on three productions. The Theatre Boosters support this critical program and we invite you to join us. All money raised is used for equipment, supplies, stipends to pay teaching artists, and other program expenses. Together we can make the arts accessible to all. Thank you!
MinuteBots
Goal: $25,000
Description: Your donations to the robotics team help us pay tournament registration fees (a typical fee is $5,000), buy tools and parts for the robot, and laptops for the programming team. Donations also make it possible for the team to travel to tournaments. To learn more about robotics at Central, take a look at our website: http://www.minutebots.org/
