Girls’ Tennis

The girls ‘tennis team was very strong this year coming
out 10-0 in conference, and 10-3 all around. The girls really
have something to celebrate. Senior captains Beth Johnson
and Emily Peschel, and junior, Harper Hier lead a wonderful
group of girls to victory.
At the regional tournament, many players earned recognition
because of their success. Sophomore Angela Liu, played #1
singles for Central, and took 2nd place in regions. Other
members who played well in the tournament were #2 doubles’ players
for Central Jacklyn Knutson (12), and Meredith Pain (12),
who made it to the second round. Captains Johnson and Peschel
played €rst doubles for Central, and quali€ed to quarter
€nals. Captain Hier also made it to quarter €nals.
“
Our team had so much fun during the season. We bonded at
movies, and made shirts for the pepfest. We had a great season
and I have no doubts that the team will be just as strong
next year,” said Johnson.
