The boys’ hockey team has a new name (The St. Paul
Senators). The team is made up of three schools Central,
Highland, and Hombolt. The change was made last spring,
when coaches and Parents congrated to vote on an appropriate
name that doesn’t have any ties with the individual
schools.
The team is coached by John Dwyer, the team practices every
Tuesday and Thursday at West Side Arena from 3-4 p.m. Key
players for the upcoming season are seniors: Sean Dinneen,
Justin Olson, Nick Zieborth- Palvovich and Russell Jones.
Yet much is still expected out of junior Andrew Megas.
“
I think we have a pretty solid team this year,” said
Dineen. “We have a tougher schedule, but I know we’ll
be alright.” With an overall record of 16-10 last season,
the Senators biggest competition will be Como Park, and Johnson
High School.
“
The team is real pumped, and it’s going to be a good
year. We’re looking forward for Andrew Megas to bring
the pain,” said Dineen. |
