Much Hope for Central’s Wrestlers

Central’s wrestling team has a good chance of winning the conference this year. There is plenty of help with 4 returning key wrestlers: seniors; David Ellison, Johnny Neisson, Maurice Fuller and sophomore, Johnset Xiong. The wrestling season starts on Nov. 15. The team is currently short on wrestlers in the weight classes that range from 103-275 lb for anyone who is interested. This year’s head coach is Wardell Warren with help from his 3 captains Ellison, Neisson, and Fuller. Assistant Coach Humphrey looks forward to having a good season. With their biggest competition being Highland, Central still plans to work hard to come out on top. “I think we can take conference this year. I know it’ll be a close call between Como, Highland, and us, but I think we can do it,” said Ellison. Central’s first match will be on Saturday, Nov. 27, against Eastview, Blue Earth, and Blooming Prairie, at Eastview.
