The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising

Students can compete for $300,000 through the National Scholarship Competition.  Six students who demonstrate an exceptional talent and interest in Fashion Design, Visual Communications, Interior Design, Digital Media Fashion Merchandising, or Graphic Design will each win a one-year scholarship to attend FIDM.  Applications available at FIDM.edu.

Student must attend WSU.  Several offered.  Some scholarships are need based, honors, athletic, and academic.  Awards range from $350-$4,500.

TFCU Scholarship

Senior with a GPA of 2.5 or above during grades 10-11- and 12, financial need, attend a 2 year or 4 year post secondary, passed the BSTÕs .  This award is worth $1,000.

Olga B. Hart Education Foundation

Senior must be planning to major in education.  A 1 or 2 page typed essay that includes information about who you are, why you believe education is important and your reasons to wanting to become an education.  Seven scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 will be awarded.

Saint Paul Federation of Teachers Dollars to Scholars

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who has participated in the MEP program with a GPA of 2.8 or higher and plans to attend a two year or four year accredited post secondary school.  In addition one $1,000 will be awarded to a student whose parent or guardian is a member of SPFT, has at least a 2.8 GPA and plans to attend a accredited two year or four year college or university.

The United Jewish Fund and Council High Education Scholarship

Jewish student who plans to will attend a college or university (preference given to a student who will attend a Minnesota college or university).  Community involvement, financial need and academic achievement.  This award ranges from $250-$1,500.

Must be accepted at a two-year or four-year college or university.  Student must demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, extra-curricular and/or community service.  The award is $500.

This national program provides over 25 scholarships, ranging in value from $1,000-$5,000 for women entering college as freshmen next Fall to study engineering or computer science.

The Salvation Army Pearl Linden Scholarship

The Linden Scholarship Committee is seeking students who are committed to improving their communities through active volunteer service.  Additionally, the scholarship committee is looking for students who permanently reside in Washington, Ramsey or Dakota counties maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Minnesota salon owners are sponsoring $500 scholarships for individuals interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology or barbering.  These scholarships can be used at any Minnesota cosmetology or barbering school.

Page Education Foundation Grant.

Student of color who plan to study at a Minnesota college, university or vocational school.  Recipients must annually complete a service project-helping K-8th grade of children of color for about two hours each week of the school year.  Write a 500 work essay on why education is important to you, your future plans, and describe the Service to Children project.  There will be more than 600 renewable Page Grants starting in the range of $1,000-$1,500.
