In this unit we get to learn about how genes are passed on from one generation to the next. We explore meiosis and mendel and how this contributes to heredity. We look at how genes code for proteins that produce a diverse range of traits and the probability of the various traits being expressed. We also look at genetic variation and the importance of genetic diversity and how it is achieved. In addition to the above list, students are expected to be able to explain the difference between mitosis and meiosis.
