Course Expectations:
      Students are expected to complete reading andwriting assignments outside of class thoughtfully, carefully, and in atimely manner.  The kinds of writings in this course are varied,designed to stretch your ability to combine rhetorical processes intoan effective whole.  Students are also expected to participate inlarge and small group discussions, reading journals, group andindividual presentations, formal and informal writing assignments, andpeer editing.  Students are expected to write under timeconstraints.  Students are expected to teach or present to theclass specific selections from literary works.  Students need tobe in class daily and turn in class assignments on time at thebeginning of the hour on the due date.  Students are responsiblefor the work that they miss when they are absent.  It is up toeach student to find out what was missed.  
     Mostly, to be successful in this course, onemust be a hard worker, inquisitive and careful reader, and be willingto participate in class discussions both about literature and theprocess of writing.
